We had a great family fishing afternoon today. We brought home 11 kokanee and lost many others. We used the same gear as our last outing except the corn.

We made our own kokanee corn today. Check out our kokanee corn videos on our You Tube channel. We are hooked on Procure Bloody Tuna. We also proved to ourselves that we don’t need shoepeg corn to catch kokanee. We bought a can of peaches and cream corn, “fancy grade” and I prefer the larger kernels.

Fish were caught at 30ft off the downrigger. We caught most fish by speeding up slightly when over a school. A few kokanee were caught by raising the downrigger ball and a few by lowering the downrigger ball.

There were a lot of boats on the water, but we all managed to fish well together. Because we were downrigger fishing and only a 30-40ft setback, it really didn’t matter to us how close the other boats were.
