We had a great time at the Quesnel Trade show this weekend, thanks to the Quesnel & District Chamber of Commerce and many great people who stopped by to talk fishing.
We joined the show late and thankfully were able to set up outside. While we were worried about it being cold outside, the weather was perfect. It was so hot outside that I put shorts on for the first time this year. Wearing shorts in April is something that can be deceiving, because sweaters and pants are often needed in the evening when the sun goes down. This time, the night remained warm and I started thinking about kokanee fishing in shorts and sandals.
We learned a lot at this trade show. Being outside had us thinking about different ways to make the our next outdoor set up better and more efficient. The wind picked up in the afternoon and I found myself running after stickers and table items being blown away in the wind. I look forward to attending more shows in the future, meeting more great people and having fun.
I was excited to see Billy at the show and snap a quick picture with him. My favorite part of the show was talking fishing with everyone and listening to everyone’s stories. My favoritest (if that’s even a word) part of the show was meeting a young angler who was so excited to tell us stories he reminded me of why we do what we do. I wish everyone a successful open water season.
Next on my list of to dos is to bring the boat out of storage and prepare for some great adventures coming soon. While I wait, I’ll be watching my lilacs and be ready to go fishing once they bloom.
