Round 2 made for an exciting ending to a great weekend spent with friends. We managed to get off the lake just as the storm rolled in.
We were catching lots of small kokanee at 25-27ft, but couldn’t find any kokanee or any size.
After changing out our setups and searching the lake some more, we found a good school of kokanee that made for exciting fishing.
Setup 1 was a purple/pink Kokabow dodger paired with a blue/pink OG1 Old Goat Lure.
Setup 2 was a 6 inch Mack’s Lure sling blade paired with a Pink P-line hoochie topped with a large chartreuse Mack’s lure smile blade.
Our homemade Canadian kokanee corn worked well again. I dressed it with a dash of Pro-cure Slam-ola powder last night and this made the “bite” harder than yesterday.
We found fish from 30-45ft off our Scotty downriggers with a 50ft set back.
A fun day on the water teaching friends about kokanee and their behaviors.
