A quick 2hr trip on 10 Mile Lake produced 6 kokanee for us before the boys were ready to go home.
We followed Willy Waters guidelines and fish were caught at 23ft and 25ft. One kokanee was caught on a top lined Mack’s wiggle bill with beads. We used Kokabow dodgers off the downriggers, squids for lures and pink and yellow corn for bait. The kokanee preferred the Mack’s smile blade with hoochie over a Hoochie and wiggle bill.
Most of the action came in the first 45min. Once the sun was straight up in the sky and the wind died down, so did the kokanee bite.
Stay tuned for our kokanee BBQ report coming at dinner time tonight on this post.
